The column was created to show examples (that will continue to be added as they come up) of subject matters important to Seniors and persons on Medicare.

    1.    I just turned 65 a few months ago, and need some kind of Medicare Insurance.  I'm already paying my Part B premium (four months now), and need to know if I need health insurance in addition to what I presently have at work.  I suggested that this person STOP their Part B coverage, and delay the Part B until it becomes necessary; WITHOUT PENALTY, when they leave work.  Could have saved almost $ 400.

    2.    I'm 70 years of age, leaving my job and losing my health insurance, what do I do.  When I found that this client has been paying for part B for five years (Almost $6,000) AND DID NOT HAVE TO, I introduced a fine Medicare Supplement at the low entry monthly cost, without regard for pre-existing conditions, and an additional Part D plan.

    3.    I just turned 65, and am on Medicare, however, I don't know if I need Part B.  I'm still on my wife's health insurance through her job, however, DO NOT WANT TO PAY PENALTIES FOR A LATE ENROLLMENT IN PART B.  This prospective client, does not have to enroll at this time in Part B because he'll have credible health and drug coverage through his wife's employment.  When that stops, then enroll in Part B, with no penalty and the letter of credible coverage from her employer's insurance company.

    4.    My wife and I make very little money from Social Security with some help from AHCCCS/the State.  I'd like dental/vision coverage, however, do not know if I'm eligible for it.  We talked, and, after careful analysis, I found an Insurance Program because of the income situation, that not only provides great Health Insurance, it includes DENTAL & VISION COVERAGE!

    5.    I'm on Medicare with low income, and receive some help from the AHCCCS/State, and the co-pays are killing me.  After brief research, and providing an application for extra help, this client was approved for help and now has Health Coverage with little or no co-pays, and includes Dental and Vision!
